Post Game Wrap-up on the Bulls Vs Brooklyn Nets

The Chicago Bulls LOST to the Brooklyn Nets – 96 to 93. With over 25 lead changes, this was a back and forth game with a lot of heart shown by Kris Dunn and the insurgence of Shaq Harrison, who showed a ton of hustle. Wendell Carter Jr displayed a preview of his future role as a star with several blocks and monstrous dunks. At about 2 minutes left in the 4th, we could see Bobby Portis limping into the locker room. Hopefully for Bobby’s sake, this is just a turned ankle and not anything to do with his previously injured knee. The game ended with a controversial call on Kris Dunn combined with some sloppy ball handling leading to a turnover that helped the Nets pull out the win, sealed by 2 free throws from former Bull Spencer Dinwiddie.
Bulls Injury Updates:
As we alluded to before, Zach Lavine will be out for another 2-4 weeks after he sprained his ankle vs Orlando while the Bulls were in Mexico City.  With Zach Lavine out of the lineup, it’s up to the rest of the guys to step up and take charge. Luckily no one else on the club is hurt, with the exception of Denzel Valentine, who is recovering from his own ankle injury and surgery.

STATE OF THE BULLS
It’s been a few weeks since we were able to get together to do a show, and what a few weeks it’s been! Fred Hoiberg is out and Asst. Coach Jim Boylen has assumed the reins of head coaching duty.
We all know about the drama that ensued since Boylen has assumed control and it showed a lot about this Bulls team and just how SOFT they really are. I know they are professionals, but trying to boycott practice and declare a mutiny is not a good showing in a city like Chicago that is filled with HARD WORKING people that are known for their perseverance and toughness. This is the kind of stunt that we’ve never seen in Chicago at this scale and it’s time to take a long hard look at this roster to see what we can do to get some winners to play for the Bulls. If you’re going to have the worst team in the league, don’t complain about how hard you work. Don’t proclaim how entitled you are as a player when you can’t even win but 25% of your games. I get that some guys were injured, but that’s absolutely no excuse for how the players are acting.
While it’s probably true that Fred Hoiberg was a “soft” coach, that’s not the kind of team we want or deserve as Chicago Bulls Fans. I would not mind if we kept Lauri,

Post Game Wrap-up on the Bulls Vs Phoenix
The Bulls took on Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns in a Wednesday night matchup. The Bulls WON the game with the score of 124-116.

Zach Lavine led all scorers with 29 points. He’s on a run to get that Most Improved Player award, and it looks like it’s his for the taking. Jabari Parker played a pretty decent game with 20 pts, 13 Rebounds and 8 assists, almost getting him into Triple Double territory.
All in all, a good win for the Bulls who have been on a losing streak lately. Most notable was the presence of DeAndre Ayton, who looks like he’ll grow into a very dominant center in the league after a few years of experience.
Bulls Injury Updates:
It was announced that Denzel Valentine will be out the rest of the season after he gets surgery later next week. He has been scheduled for a full ankle restoration surgery, which Denzel indicated is going to be just what the doctor ordered. He said he’s had ankle issues ever since entering the league, and it will be great to be 100% in the ankle department when he returns next season.
Hopefully Denzel heals up quick and can be back to playing form for the season opener.
Chandler Hutchison missed the Phoenix game due to back spasms, but it looks to be short-term and nothing that will keep him out of any games.
We’ve also got news that both Lauri Markkanen and Kris Dunn have been working out and hitting non-contact portions of practice. It looks like it will be another 2 weeks or so for both of them. There are rumblings that Lauri will be playing with the Windy City Bulls G-League team by late next week to get ready to make his comeback.
We’ll be lucky if Bobby Portis comes back by Christmas, as his injury has not healed as fast as Dunn’s has. I feel bad for Bobby, as it’s a contract year for him and this will mean he’s going to work much harder to get a good deal for next season, which is when you run a huge risk to re-injure yourself, or play in a reserved way so that you don’t injure yourself again. Either way, Bobby has a long uphill climb ahead of him.

Roundtable Discussion
TANK TIME?

So is it time to tank? I think Gar/Pax have probably been watching Duke basketball, as I have all season so far. In my opinion it’s time to submarine this team and hit the tank button. Once again we are in a post-season fight with the Cavs, but this time it’s to see who can suck the most and get the coveted #…

Post Game reaction to Bulls Vs. Boston Celtics:

Score: Bulls LOSE. Score 111-82
The Bulls held a 5-point lead after one quarter in Boston … then lost by 29. Bulls fall 111-82 to the Celtics. Their offense was pitiful, shooting 39% with 22 turnovers.
The Bulls are now 4-11 as of this recording. They’re 3 games back of the 8th seed. They’re 1.5 games back in the race for the NBA’s worst record. There are 67 games left to play.
Jabari Parker and Shaq Harrison led the way with 14 and 16 points respectively. Zach Lavine’s consecutive streak of 20 point games comes to an end at 15 games in the streak. Zach only put up 10 points against the Celtics.

Bulls Injury Updates:
Lauri Markkanen, Denzel Valentine, Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis have all been out with injuries. Where do they stand in their recovery so far?
LAURI:
Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg updated the status of second-year stretch forward Lauri Markkanen Monday and the news isn’t good for Bulls fans.
Lauri Markkanen suffered a high-grade lateral right elbow sprain during training camp. The Bulls initially said Markkanen would miss six-to-eight weeks. Hoiberg said Monday, though, that the Bulls will take the cautious approach to make sure Lauri is 100 percent, which means the Bulls’ young star is still two-to-three weeks away from playing, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. But Fred recently said it will be 9-11 weeks before we see Lauri back. He was seen taking threes and even dunking with his injured arm, so who really knows when this will happen. It may happen sometime in December, or next year before we see him again.

KRIS:
It looks like the recovery of Kris Dunn is going according to plans. He injured his knee with a severe MCL sprain and was projected to be out for 4-6 weeks. It’s been 3 weeks, so it’s another 2-3 weeks before we’ll see him on the court again. With Archie and Shaq Harrison doing well in the lineup,

Where are we after 8 Games into the Schedule? Roundtable Discussion
With 8 games in the books and the Bulls having a 2-6 record, we’re officially 10% into the season. With a continuation of this trend, we’re projected to have just 20 wins this season. Right in line with what the Las Vegas experts predicted. We all got mad about that, but as the first sets of games have shown, it’s exactly what they thought it would be despite our own higher expectations as Bulls fans. Are we setting ourselves up for disappointment as the Bulls are tanking? Was this their plan the whole time? Is this just not Fred’s plan and he should be fired? All these questions and more are being thrown on the table for this roundtable discussion.
